The Board of Directors held its regular monthly meeting at 2007 Bert Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, starting at 2:30 pm. The following directors (constituting a quorum of the full board) were present at the meeting: President Kathy Lee, Treasurer Penny Chambers (by phone), Lia Nelson and Kim Pillsbury. The following directors were absent: .Secretary John McGarey. Robert McGarey (Executive Director) was also present at the meeting.
The Mission Statement was read aloud at the beginning of the meeting. Minutes from the previous meeting were read aloud and approved as read.
Solar Panels. The inverter for the solar panels blew on May 18th and it wasn't possible to get it fixed until July 11th because HPC was lower on their list of priorities. Bob gave us a tutorial on monitoring.solaredge.com which tracks our solar panel usage.
Purple Martins. We had about 24 Purple Martins during the spring, but they just started migrating to Brazil.
Blossom Room. Sammm is no longer renting blossom room (it's been about a month and a half since it has been vacant temporarily although permanently since January. Kathy and Bob have been posting it on Craigslist and other places but haven't had much response.
Garage Apartment. Mid June, Katie McCauley moved into the Garage apartment, but she hasn't been able to attend any events yet due to her job being in a crunch. We are happy to have her along with Devon, JR and Lia as always.
Info Sign. The sign is ready and Frederick is working on getting the sign structure & roof ready. It will cost about $100 per year to maintain the structure.
Marketing. Bob sent out informational packet about the Center to everyone on the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society, which he is a member of, and he plans to cold call other psychology people in town. After New Texas went away it has been hard reaching out. Meetup so far led by Marlin has been the most effective. She may stop posting on singles group but Bob may take over that. Bob will take information to promote the Center to his 50 year high school reunion in November.
Financials. Bob said we've made $7,000 from Bingo this year, but he has put aside 15% for Unrelated Business Income Tax. Bob bought a used refurbished computer for $357 because his computer could not view a lot of secure sites. We have $3,412 in checking but need to reduce it by $1,200 due to the Virginia Satir conference, which hasn't cleared yet. The Gladys Taylor Living Medicine Endowment is starting with a donation of $20,000,000, and. Honor Health is on a full time campaign to raise $100,000,000.
Since there was no further business, the meeting adjourned at around 4:30 pm.
